I was talking to my friend when he said that his cousin had been earning 10k Usd per month. I was skeptical. What do you know about that?
I don't like wow.

Oh ye, Molten Wow & ScapeGaming won a lot (When Scapegaming had been TBC, since now its fail ).
You can earn a lot of money with wow server
- - #5
Well, you CAN earn upto like 1k EUR per day. It will be difficult to get players to download your servers and make money from them. You will need to do a lot manual fixes and have about 20-30 GMs. If they don't answer their ticket within a minute, they'll leave. There is ALWAYS a better server.

I see. I was thinking of making it for fun. Hardware recommendations?
(No donations, no votes, I just want a taste

1GB ram and any dual core CPU. TFS and Otserv are better cores, but they use less memory and the calculations are more CPU-demanding. They calculate with atleast 2256kbit / s per player. (i.e 400 player on 100mbit).

Hmm, nice. I have enough for 4k players. So, prefered engine (This is the last question) Once you answer I'll put it online and start fixing some stuff, then if you'd like to join once it's ready, I'll pm you with the ip.

All I can recommend is to stay under the radar. I watched the fall of Wowscape/scapegaming. Peyton (owner of that server, long long story) just couldn't keep the drama away from her. In the time it was up, it is reported that she made more than $1,000,000 USD. I have logs to support this!
All I'm saying is, you start making money, don't tell people. All about private wow servers Keep it quiet. You will need to find a way to have donation GMs that do not have access to how much you are making. Because people will get jealous and they will backstab you whenever they get the chance.
Don't be greedy if you have a team, as that is what makes big servers successful. It will pay off for the developers in the end.
Just my opinion!

It's not going to be huge, and I don't think I'll need donations. My dedi has plenty space. If it grows, I'll probably have to get em. Thank you for your help.
I don't know which one, it could be ArcEmu or Mangos.
LMFAO LMFAO I have heard about Peyton. She's bought a treadmill with donators money lmfao.

ArcEmu made easier

Blizzard have taken down several servers hosted in Netherland, US and Germany. One of them got to pay like 6 million USD (Grinder), and other servers like Anti-WoW, ChaosCrusade, WoWGasm and Toxic had to pay their price too.
You can be sued for more money than you could ever earn from the server if you get caught in blizzard.

stian said that Blizzard took down several servers located in Netherland, the US, and Germany. One of them was forced to pay 6,000,000 USD (Grinder), while other servers like Anti-WoW.ChaosCrusade.WoWGasm.com and Toxic had their share.
It's illegal to have a WoW server, as you can copy files from the client. Also, you cannot connect to one if you violate the EULA.
If you get caught by blizzard you'll most likely get sued for more then you can ever imagine to earn from the server. Click to expand...
YES, that's right :=

It would be difficult to find me. Since I host it in America and I'm Brazilian,

Netherland was hit with 20 servers. The HOSTING company was shut down by Blizzard. It is not difficult for them to shut down US servers, since they have their own DCMA section. Grn online

Yeah, browsing the internet I found about it. Closing wouldn’t be a problem. Limestone is my hosting company. An intermediary resells Limestone to me with some benefits. Oh, and I think you'd like to see this http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/9875/ab0u0yachbljtey9rcwlx3.jpg

Yes, I agree. But I do think they are making a lot of money from these items.
