The Civil Wars have cancelled the UK tour they are currently on, blaming "internal conflict and irreconcilable differing ambitions".

After playing a few dates, the Nashville folk band have now withdrawn from shows at Cardiff, Warwick and Southampton.

They apologized to the fans but stated that they could not continue as a touring company at this point.

But, they said that they "hope you will have new music in 2013".

The announcement was made during a UK tour that had already visited Liverpool and Gateshead, Cambridge, London, and Glasgow.

Band members Joy Williams and John Paul White have offered to reimburse fans who've paid for travel or accommodation for the cancelled gigs.

The band released their debut album Barton Hollow to critical praise in 2011.

The pair won two Grammy awards earlier this year for best country duo/group performance and best folk album.
