Private Division Will Also Suspend Activities

Rockstar Games made an announcement on Twitter earlier today that they would temporarily shut down Red Dead Online and GTA Online servers in support of Black Lives Matter as well as George Floyd.



Black Lives Matter. Today, 6/4/20, 2:00-4:00 PM. To honor George Floyd's legacy, ET, we will be shutting down access to our online games, Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online.



Servers will be closed between 2pm ET (7pm BST), 4pm ET (9pm BST). I'm Only Good At One Thing Rockstar went on to share a link to CharityNavigator.org, highlighting charities known for the civil rights actions.



GamesIndustry.biz reported that Take-Two interactive will also shut down its online services.



Update: Take-Two has informed us that all of their labels will be shutting down online games during this time, including those from Rockstar, 2K and Social Point. Private Division will also suspend activities.
