Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates RecordBreak Tourism Entry Numbers From the United States
NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022/PRNewswire-- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking tourism arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a 4% increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% higher than in the year 2019.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) declared that it was exciting to see the growth in Israeli tourism coming from the United States. Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019 he stated. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. In fact, before the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record breaking figures of tourist entry each month. It's a great positive trend that we're very happy about and anticipate an upward trajectory for years to come."
Not far behind the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed its tourist arrivals in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6000 in August.
Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that "it's amazing to see the way that tourism in Canada is booming." We're still not away from our record-setting 2019 numbers and we expect that this growth in Israel travel will continue to increase as Canadians find it easier to travel internationally."
Israel welcomed more that 4.6 million international visitors in 2019 and this included 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter if they are immunized. The country has already hosted more than 600,000.
