Once this happens, the heat retention will be less and you’ll have to re-time your quartz. Some people swear by the crystal cleaner, but I’m not super impressed with it. At least in my testing, I didn’t really see much of an advantage in using it. I still prefer the 99% isopropyl alcohol soak method. There are even a number of companies making cotton swabs with stems filled with isopropyl alcohol. I’ve been getting a lot of use out of them because they’re super easy.
Think of the body of the Táo MacBook Pro or the heatsink of a CPU; they are used to draw away and disperse heat from essential components. While this is great for keeping electronics safe, it puts your fragile glass at risk of breakage. While the bowl is still a little warm, wipe it down with a swab soaked in alcohol. At this stage, it should be easy to get all the gunk off. The next day, remove the banger and use warm water to rinse it thoroughly. Try to wash away as much of the residue as possible. Ideally, you should never heat the quartz to more than 600° F.
There are few things in life more inviting than a perfect crystal clear quartz banger heated to the ideal temperature and ready for a dab of some top shelf terps. Definitely watch the video if you are at all confused about this. I’m basically saying get the butane or propane torch heating up the shit out of that banger! Just be careful and always remember that shit is HOT FAM. Save the alcohol for the rig, and just torch clean that banger.
The size and angle of the elbow of your banger will depend on the joint size of your water pipe or bubbler. The chambers of quartz bangers are mostly similar, making it easy for cross-compatibility with concentrate tools, carb cabs, and other banger accessories. Ever take a few dabs in a row and realize your banger is dark brown already? Don’t get caught with a nasty piece around your friends! Keep your quartz banger or dab rig sparkling clean with Honey Swabs. Honey Swabs are made by dabbers, for dabbers, featuring a pointy side to help with those hard to reach surfaces, and a rounded side to tackle any surface. Pair Honey Swabs with a 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and you’ll find yourself swabbing after every dab.
Use the dry side of the Q-Tip to mop up any extra alcohol.
Quarts has definitely become the material of choice for dabbers especially for those flavorful low temp dabs. It is an excellent material for dabbing nails because of it's really high melting point and corrosion resistance. Check out our massive selection of dab bangers that will fit on any type of rig. To maximize your flavor and vapor we recommend a carb cap, as you can direct the airflow and add more resistance. If your quartz banger is just a little grimy, the cleaning process is much simpler. Less than a minute after your hit, wipe the residue with an alcohol-soaked cotton swab. You can remove any alcohol remnants with a dry cốt tông swab.
Of course, it's up to you to keep it clean, and we want to share just how to do so. To avoid this, and to keep your banger sparkling, absolutely employ a timer on your phone or watch, and start with a seemingly long wait after the initial heat up. Keep track of the timing and slowly reduce the wait until you hit that equilibrium of complete vaporization without the black charring inside your quartz nail. Make note of that heat up and wait time and stick to it for all future dabs.
Some dabbers lượt thích to keep their swabs submerged in isopropyl alcohol for the ultimate cleaning power. Other times, people ruin solid bangers because they refuse to clean them until the damage is done, or they smoke them at too high of temperatures.
You should not get any permanent black residue after that and a qtip. ISO will clean anything else there if you need it, but really you should only ever have gray discoloration if you've just cleaned your nail. Its relatively easy to clean compared to other types of nails, and can look new in a matter of minutes. That has a lot to do with the temp at which your dabbing and the quality of your concentrates. At best electric dab rig have found that I can scrap the Black crap off after it builds up. But it won't get all the way clean again no matter what. Quick question for all you seasoned Quartz users out there.
For deep cleaning, you can soak your banger in some warm iso to dissolve away any debris and return it to practically new. Once the seasoning process is finished, you can then practice cleaning your quartz dab nail. Just use glass water bongs swab to wipe away any excess oils or concentrates while the nail is still warm. Quartz is porous, so your oils can seep into it, harden and oxidize once the nail cools. Cleaning your quartz nail after each dabbing session — or even after each hit — will help extend your quartz nail's lifespan. To convert your concentrates into usable vapor, you are going to need a heating source.
